Server database maintenance has been scheduled to start at 2 AM GMT on Thursday, June 26th, 2008 (9 PM EST/10 PM EDT on Wednesday, June 25th). The MySQL database of the server needs full restoration to be performed in order to be optimized its working condition. The maintenance will cause a short downtime of not more than 30-40 minutes to the server’s email and FTP hosting services. Your websites however will remain fully operational.

As you may have already noticed, today, June 10th, the server supporting your website(s) (SupremeCenter10.co.uk) has been experiencing several 15-minute downtimes. The reason for those interruptions is a flood attack whose target website we have failed to determine. Our administrators are now trying their best to locate the under-attack website in order to eliminate the downtime-causing factor and thus to make sure that no other service disruptions will occur. The process of determining the website that is subject to the flood attack might take several hours, additional short interruptions are possible within that period.

The maintenance is set to start at 7 AM GMT (2 AM EST/3 AM EDT) and cause a 1 hour downtime of the customers’ Web Hosting Control Panel. The e-mail services and customers’ websites will be fully operational, several eventual website downtimes might occur of not more than 3-5 minutes each.

We’d like to inform you about an upcoming maintenance on server SupremeCenter10.co.uk, that will take place at 3 AM, on June 6th, 2008. The procedure was imposed by the necessity for finding a permanent solution to the downtimes you may have been experiencing lately due to the frequent /var/ file system check procedures. To solve that issue, our administrators will need to re-build the /var/ partition of the server from a scratch, thus ensuring that all possible reasons for those file system disruptions have been eradicated and the server has been brought back to its stable working condition. The maintenance procedure is expected to last about 45 minutes without any negative effect on your hosted data.
